The Cellar Door was founded by Sean Chaudhry in 2005. As a result of Sean’s immersion in the wine community, he recognized a need for a local, no frills bistro and wine shop. The Cellar Door was created to offer enthusiasts a place to relax and enjoy great food and wine, and at prices to be savored as well.

The traditional “cellar door” is a winery tasting room, where customers are invited to purchase the delicious wines they have sampled. The phrase cellar door also captured the attention of epic author J. R. R. Tolkien. The writer famous for giving the literary world The Lord of the Rings declared that out of all of the words in the English language, and their numerous combinations, “cellar door” is the most beautiful.
